Privacy notice
Last updated 20 October 2026
This notice explains what personal data NearbyBoost collects, why, and what rights you have. We keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, email [email protected].
Who we are
NearbyBoost is a UK business providing local search, AI search and automation services. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: [email protected].
What we collect
- Form details: your name, email, business name, town, website and message when you request a free check or contact us.
- Emails: the content of emails you send us and our replies.
- Client information: billing name and address, the services you buy, and the access you grant us (for example Manager access to your Google Business Profile).
- Basic technical data: a one-way hashed version of your IP address, your country and browser type, used only to stop spam and abuse.
We also look at public information about your business, such as your Google Business Profile, reviews and listings, to prepare your report.
Why we use it, and the lawful basis
- To prepare and send the report or reply you asked for (your request, and our legitimate interest in responding).
- To deliver services you buy, invoice you and keep records (contract and legal obligation).
- To send a short series of helpful follow-up emails about a report you requested, at most four over three weeks (legitimate interest). Reply “stop” at any time and we stop straight away.
- To keep the website and forms secure (legitimate interest).
We do not sell your data, and we do not add you to marketing lists.
Who we share it with
Only service providers who help us run the business, under contracts that protect your data:
- Cloudflare: website hosting, forms, database and sending email.
- Google Workspace: our email inbox.
- Anthropic (Claude): AI used to research, draft reports and replies, and run automations. We do not send it more personal data than the task needs.
- Google Maps Platform: to look up public business listing data.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or adequacy regulations.
How long we keep it
- Free check requests and enquiries that do not become work: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Client records and invoices: 6 years, as required for UK tax records.
- Access to your Google profile or website: removed when the work ends, or straight away if you ask.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
